Spam declines, targeted threats up
In 2010, cybercrime took a turning point, spam levels declined and this trend continued throughout 2011. According to Cisco's Annual Security Report, this trend was explained by the takedown of numerous botnet networks, even though the number of smaller, more focused attacks was on the increase.
Macworld: Garmin to showcase new iOS app features
Garmin has announced that it will showcase its newest iOS application features at this year's Macworld. Among the newest features, Garmin will demo social search and check-in capabilities for the StreetPilot on Demand navigation app as well as as new functions for the Tracker app that allows users to share links to a live tracking map.

Nuance Communications has announced a new version of the Dragon PaperPort Notes app for the iPad, for the first time letting people create notes simply by speaking.
A bumper season for eBucks
Despite slow to steady retail sales forecasts for the 2011 festive season, eBucks saw the highest activity ever recorded, with members spending R140 million between October and December 2011, a growth of 60% on 2010.
